ING is looking for an enthusiastic Product Owner with IT engineer skills who gets her/his energy from working with leading edge technology, break down the work in prioritized epics, align these epics between all parties (including offshore teams) in the process chain, in order bring Open Meta Data to its destined position with the ING Data landscape.

Job description:

The product owner is responsible for the creation and prioritization of the backlog and the roadmap of the Open Meta Data (Egeria) squad. It is key that the development and execution of the roadmap is aligned with several stakeholders like suppliers, offshore teams and teams consuming the Egeria services. Moreover, with your  experience, you are able to develop a vision on the products and services that your squad is responsible for. Aside of the product ownership role, you are working alongside the team realizing the deliverables by creating a product vision that is future proof (feature engineering / developer skills).

Egeria is an open source project dedicated to making Open Metadata standard a reality.

 

ING is one of the creators and developers behind Open Metadata/Egeria and our teams have a unique opportunity to be developing needed functionality, making Egeria production ready in ING as well as be an active member of the open source community.

 

One of the teams is working on the feature development, testing and release of the functionality. And from another side we have a team dedicated to making Egeria production ready as well as bringing and supporting it in production.

You will be working closely with these two teams of which a small part is in Amsterdam, an offshore team in Romania and the Global Data Management organization of ING.

 

Your profile

You are an experienced engineer (6+ years of experienced) with a wide knowledge in the IT environment, and a relevant HBO (WO) background. In addition you have at least two year experience as a Product Owner. You are capable of building the product vision, and transform that into a roadmap aligned with all stakeholders involved, taking into account all the necessary work to allow for a flawless operation of the application. You take initiative, are a good communicator, are able to operate on your own, but sees the value of good collaboration and alignment with key stakeholders, in order to realize the dreams of Open Meta Data together.

 

Skills required

 

We look for someone with the typical PO skills like:

  • Creation and prioritization of backlogs (divided into predictable epics)
  • Setting out the vision for the squad, and guard the priorities
  • Alignment with key stakeholders and taking into account the dependencies in the process chain
  • 6+ years of experience within  the IT domain
  • Experienced with met Agile /Scrum

 

Next to typical PO skills we look for:

  • Solid experience and knowledge in metadata management, data governance and enterprise data strategies.
  • Proven records in managing, delivering and coordinating enterprise level projects.
  • Knowledge or experience of IT risk and DevOps in financial or banking industries
  • Feeling comfortable working in an international team
