The rapid growth of offshore wind capacity has the potential to accelerate the energy transition and reduce society´s dependence on fossil fuels. Motivated by both financial gain and / or energy supply disruption, cyber criminals and nation state actors are increasingly targeting offshore wind assets for their cyber attacks. Recent high profile examples of cyber attacks are just a preview of what can be expected in as we increase our reliance on wind energy in the current geopolitical environment.

New legislation is coming and countries are taking stronger steps to protect and enforce cybersecurity best practices in companies and projects. But compliance itself is just one step in improving cybersecurity resilience of critical infrastructure assets like offshore wind farms. The frontiers of cybersecurity, especially in industrial environments, are ever expanding – as companies must stay on top of the latest vulnerabilities, but also expand their governance into their supply chain.

How should companies in the offshore wind sector be adapting to this changing landscape?

In his presentation, Sjoerd Peerlkamp will dive into the following four topics:

· The Offshore Wind Cyber Threat Landscape

· Upcoming Rules and Regulations regarding Cybersecurity

· How to raise your Cybersecurity Resilience with a structured and risk based approach

· The impact for the Offshore Wind supply chain
