Further details about the exams
Preparation time/effort depends very much on your prior knowledge. For this reason, we provide the exam preparation materials (upon exam payment) as self-study kit, so that all candidates have the same theoretical level of knowledge when each module begins.
For Foundation we would indicate that reading through the materials takes about 6 hours, and for Lead about 12 hours.
Any computer-based exam must be scheduled by the participant via the PECB, e.g. a few days/weeks after the course. If you have barely had time to go through the materials before the course, you may want to leave it a little longer after the course before scheduling your exam(s) so you can go through the materials a bit more before taking the exam. You can choose the date/time of the exam yourself.
A Windows laptop with application installation permissions is required to complete the exam.
The program contains practical topics and guest speakers. The classroom course does not cover all ISO content as theory classes. Self-study activities are required before and after the course, and all exams will be offered online at your own location and suitable time & date post-program.
Foundation is not required before Lead exams. Foundation includes lifetime free recertification. Lead requires professional experience and includes 1 year certification (then US$100 p/y directly payable to the PECB institute).
Changing Foundation to Lead level in the Corporate 2-wk package is €300 per exam extra. For those already holding PECB Foundation but want to take Lead of the same standard, the fee is only €890 per Lead exam.
For any of the Foundation exams, native English speakers get 1 hour (non-native English get an extra 10 minutes). For any of the Lead exams, native English speakers get max 3 hours (non native English get 30 minutes extra).
Incidentally, if you do not pass the first time, 1 free 're-sit' is offered by PECB within 12 months.
