Do you have time for the IT job of the century in the coming years?

Design, monitor and put your name under one of the biggest transformations within financials!

The buildings are the applications in which the data "lives", the roads are the interfaces over which it "moves" but.. built in stages over the years. With different materials and contractors, based on often acute needs.

The result? A fragmented infrastructure that does not keep pace with new developments. You get it: their IT metropolis needs to be overhauled so they can move forward. They want to move to one overarching, agile IT architecture, in which all banking processes fit together perfectly. Future-oriented, but taking into account our IT legacy and security challenges. So building and renovating. What do you think about this next step? Work on your goals and develop yourself both professionally and personally.

Your work

You get a place at the drawing boards of the Enterprise Architecture division. A department where you become part of an architectural dream team. You not only design sustainable solutions for current business and IT questions, but you also monitor extensions in the future. They must remain in line with our goal. An agile and cost-efficient architecture that:

  • anticipates the future;
  • radically simplifies the IT landscape;
  • can be used organization-wide.

You operate at a high level, but remain in contact with the communities within the organization. If someone comes up with a request or plan - no matter how urgent or nice - you ask the right questions. Does it fit into the overall design? Does it last long enough? Does it outweigh the costs, and what are the risks? In short: you test proposals for vision, future-proofing and added value. Sometimes you advise "don't do". You cannot achieve progress by easily deviating from your plan. You are also stable, but not a rigid soloist. You work with stakeholders from all layers of the organization and many external parties. Good communication is therefore of great importance. Sometimes your professional knowledge and enthusiasm are enough to convince colleagues and partners. Sometimes you have to dare to ask difficult questions. For example about assumptions, alternatives and dependencies. Or you ask for patience, because you know that there is a better solution elsewhere in the bank. The designers can get to work quickly when the light is green. Whatever your judgment, you don't necessarily strive for the most beautiful design. However, to maximum impact with minimal and balanced regulations. Because with too many rules we get stuck, or are ignored. Too few rules leads to unorganized solutions. And we want to get rid of that. To make the transition from project-driven architecture to architecture-driven projects, this organization has raised enterprise (data) architecture as a field. You therefore mainly talk to policymakers who set strategic priorities based on a vision. Their decisions depend on your knowledge of the business and overview of our IT landscape. So you have both.

Your working environment

The architecture department is the control tower of everything that is centrally managed in the field of architecture and data. Deliberately positioned high in the organization for a good overview. In this new and specialist department, a total of 20+ enterprise architects will be responsible for the quality, durability and maneuverability of the new city. Looking outwards and forwards, right through every hierarchy. We set high standards, with the advantage that your teammates also meet these. Together with the best people that the organization and the market have to offer, you get a unique opportunity. Designing an architecture of which 20,000 colleagues say: this works, this has been thought about. Working at here means getting even better at what you do. We understand customers, translate their ambitions into common success and earn trust. We want our customers to understand our products. This means that we sometimes sell 'no' when the risk of a product is too great for a customer. Customer interest is also: offering a clear product range. And: communicate clearly. Banking is our profession, the world our challenge.

Your profile

With your security orientation, you know exactly what the organization needs, and how to incorporate this into the overall plan. But you also understand what we are not waiting for. You can quickly see whether those expensive security solutions fit into our plans, or whether it is a solution that we will regret sooner or later. In short: you know what is for sale, and at what price. You are constructively critical from a conviction. How else would you like to inform the top of the bank understandably about the benefits and risks of each step forward? Sometimes there is nothing to weigh and your answer is simply "no". It is then up to you to defend your vision. Do you think you would suit this?
