At UL, we know why we come to work.

Thousands of us around the world wake up every day with a common purpose: to make the world a safer, more secure and sustainable place. Science is in our DNA; we are endlessly curious and passionate about seeking and speaking the truth. We take delight in knowing that our work makes a meaningful contribution to society, and we are proud that our culture is centred on integrity, collaboration, inclusion and excellence. UL stands at the forefront of technological advancement, and we are continually challenged to find new ways to foster innovation and positive change. Satisfying? Yes. Exciting? Absolutely!

At UL Identity Management & Security (IMS) we aim to make the cyber world more secure. We work with our customers to test, validate/verify, certify, and advise on their functional security and non-functional cybersecurity of their products, systems, and ecosystems. We make sure the security functions of products and systems work as they should, and we help customers test their (connected) technologies for hackability.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Analyst to join our team in Leiden, The Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for developing our existing internal tools used for project tracking, order fulfillment, and validations as part of the certification process. You’ll be adding new functionality and maintaining the platform, while also acting as the administrator. Next to coding, you will be tasked with improving internal processes and automation.

  • Point of contact between the team and IT team
  • Stakeholder management
  • Lead by example – proactively coach more junior colleagues on technical and soft skill aspects of work.
  • Innovate – have an open and creative mind, improve internal processes, and be involved in new types of projects.
  • Work on personal development – be active in coaching sessions held by your lead, participate in UL training programs and attend related training sessions to build up knowledge in transaction technology, maintain knowledge of standards, specifications, and rules of the international payment schemes and transit/mobility, including new technologies and innovations.

What makes you a great fit:

  • You have 2-4 years experience in software development
  • Solid experience in C# and .NET
  • Comfortable with SQL databases

  • You possess good spoken and written English language skills, fluency in Dutch is a plus.
  • You like working towards a larger goal and are willing to take the initiative into your own hands.
  • You are comfortable in trying yourself in new areas without necessarily knowing everything and can figure out things as you go.
  • You are a good communicator and can convey the message to both technical and business audiences.
  • Flexible to change of circumstances (e.g. short confirmation timelines, handling multiple projects simultaneously).

What you’ll experience working at UL:

  • Mission: For UL, corporate and social responsibility isn’t new. Making the world a safer, more secure and sustainable place has been our business model for the last 125 years and is deeply engrained in everything we do.
