As an IT trainee you can choose from a number of important IT projects, within which you will make a significant contribution. Now more than ever, IT is the beating heart of ING. Terms such as artificial intelligence, fintech, blockchain, cloud, continuous delivery, API and full stack and have become part of the bank’s standard vocabulary with good reason. We have 6,6 million customers who make use of online banking, and our mobile app is among the top ten most popular apps. All departments within our organization, such as the dealing room, work with state-of-the-art software which we develop in-house. 

Your first rotation
ING takes a customer-centric approach and IT plays a crucial role in that, which is why we are looking for trainees with a real passion for IT. Based on your own interests, you can indicate your preferences for your first rotation so that we can work together to find a suitable starting role for you. You could set to work as DevOps Engineer, IT Security Engineer, Architect, Java Developer or in the area of Cyber security,  for example. These are all projects at the cutting edge of IT and business, with an emphasis on IT.

Your benefits
Needless to say we offer you an excellent base salary for this traineeship (starters position), a 13th month, paid annual leave, an impressive training package and a permanent contract. But above all we offer you the chance to shape your own ideas about banking in a receptive environment and hence to make banking even simpler and more transparent for our customers. Together with other (international) trainees you will participate in global events, which will enable you to quickly build up a large network. You also have the opportunity to do one of your projects abroad – because six months in the likes of Singapore, Sidney or Madrid is not only really interesting but also good for your development.
 
As a trainee you receive guidance from your line manager and your Key Potential Expert (trainee manager). If you are looking for additional guidance you can ask a Senior Manager to mentor you. They will coach you, inspire you, introduce you to their network and share their knowledge and insights with you. 
 
Our IT trainee

• Has a master degree from a university, preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, Software/Computer Engineering or Mathematics (with clear programming affinity).
• Has a demonstrable and indomitable passion for IT.
• Is enthusiastic and consider the interests of our customers and your colleagues.
• Has an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn your ideas into reality.
• Has have an interest to learn more about banking/finance
