The Centre for Information Security and Privacy Protection is a public-private network organisation consisting of Participants and Knowledge Partners. Participants are public companies whose employees participate in one or more of the working relationships in the network. Knowledge partners are market parties that are bound by a covenant and have pledged a number of hours in the collaboration. We work on the basis of 'for all, by all'.

The CIP was set up by the Tax and Customs Administration, DUO, SVB and UWV and stems from the Compact Government Service programme (2011-2012). These and other implementing organisations receive, manage and process large amounts of data. In accordance with the statutory frameworks, the information processes must meet criteria of availability, integrity and confidentiality. The increasing digitisation of work processes and communication with citizens on the one hand, and the growing security risks on the other, demand more attention than ever before.
