The Financial Markets & Group Treasury Investing IT area of ING is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the systems used in the Wholesale Banking domain for trading and processing cash equity, equity derivatives, commodity derivatives, fixed income and securities financing products. The business is active in Europe, UK, America and Asia.
We are looking for a strong DevOps Engineer passionate about IT and Banking, solution-focused and able to contribute to design, development, test automation and hardening (security, stability, deployment) of our systems used for global exchange traded products. The squad you will be working at is based in Amsterdam and supports the ING front office traders who deal with cash equity and equity derivatives trading. The main applications managed by the squad are Fidessa and Ullink.
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for the support, maintenance and evolution of our systems used in the cash equity and equity derivatives domain. You will be actively participating in the extension of the platform’s capabilities by developing, deploying and configuring new features, components and releases in an agile/scrum way. You are also responsible for the availability, stability and performance of those applications. You ensure that our customers get an excellent service and that they can trade without interruptions. You will be working in close co-operation with colleagues from various departments/locations, with vendors and with the ING traders. You keep the IT risk in control. By doing so, you ensure that ING can trade competitively in the market, with high reliability and in a compliant way.
As a DevOps Engineer you will combine analytical, technical and functional expertise in order to perform the following:
Provide first and second line production support on Ullink and Fidessa.
Solve incidents with proper root cause analysis. If needed suggest corrective action or acceptable workaround solutions first and then solve it with proper root cause analysis.
Support end users with technical and functional queries.
Extend the platform's capabilities and design, build, and test innovative ideas.
Work on IT risk related controls such as Security Monitoring, Identity and Access Management, Change Management, and Platform Security.
Supporting the applications on both Linux and Windows.
Execute regression, functional, load and system integration testing.
Contribute to improvements and engage proactively in the Scrum ceremonies.
University degree in Computer Science or engineering with strong IT background.
4+ years of hands on experience with electronic trading platforms or financial markets applications.
Extensive work experience in a Ops or system engineering role, preferably with DevOps in a banking domain.

You have good communication(both verbal and written) skills in English.
You have domain knowledge on Financial markets (make specific to exchange traded derivatives).
You have 5+ years experience as system/ops engineer or extensive work experience with any vendor based applications for financial markets trading, e.g. Fidessa, ULLink, or Horizon.
You have experience with Linux/Windows environments and scripting languages (we tend to use bash but, open to any scripting language).
Knowledge of ITIL processes (Change/Problem/Incident Management)
Working knowledge of middleware and network protocols. Good knowledge of
FIX/SWIFT protocols.
You have experience with version control systems (Perforce, SVN, Git, etc) and CI/CD pipelines/tools.
You have good knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably Java or Python.
Experience with agile way of working.
