Introduction

ING is looking for an excellent medior/senior IT Ops engineer for our high tech and innovative Trade and Communication Surveillance team in Amsterdam. The team is responsible for 3 main systems with a broad underlying infrastructure, making use of the newest technology standards. Those are ING’s global systems for high tech smart investigations and surveillance, meaning that the users and stakeholders are found all over the world in APAC, Americas and EMEA.

 

As a medior/senior IT Ops engineer, you will be involved in PROD support to the business/users, improvements on the systems in cooperation with 3 different vendors, automation of different system components, strategic alignment and planning within the team, in the near future supporting implementation of Machine Learning/AI, infrastructure, CICD, Azure DevOps pipeline, and much more!

Note: in this role you are expected to take the lead on several topics within the IT team.

Feature delivery is driven by the priorities determined by the Business and Product Owner, but always in close cooperation with the entire IT team. Personal profile

Must have:

  • Good data analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field.

  • Able to work independently when needed, but also a team player.

  • Good communicative skills. With both IT and business. Understanding functional requirements.

  • Multiple years of experience.

  • Experience with incident, problem and change management. IT operational support.

  • Sufficient organizational and administrational skills. Documentation, planning, etc.

  • Good knowledge in managing RHEL and Windows 2012 servers.

  • Knowledge in scripting languages like python, PowerShell and Bash.

  • Good knowledge in MSSQL database.

  • DevOps/scrum or Agile experience.

  • Knowledge in setting up CICD pipeline (Azure CICD).

Nice to have:

  • Experience and knowledge in setting up log application monitoring (preferably ELK stack).

  • Understanding of big data analytics and data science.

  • Financial Markets domain knowledge.

  • Proactive, perseverant and value a multi-cultural work environment.

Technical skills

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Good RDBMS knowledge, especially Microsoft SQL Server as a user and administrator.

  • Data trouble shooting and data analytics experience.

  • Windows and Linux: service level trouble shooting and server configuration management.

  • Unix: basic unix infrastructure and shell commands.

  • Python: ability to script basic operational tasks. Enough knowledge to understand and interpret the code.

  • Knowledge in continuous integration and delivery (version control tools like GIT).

  • Basic understanding in Azure portal and Azure DevOps.

GOOD TO HAVE:

  • Test automation skills (web based / database level).

  • Relativity application experience.

  • Experience with NoSQL platforms, preferably Maria DB.

  • Monitor tooling like SquaredUp, Grafana, ELK.

  • IT Risk management (standard ING requirement).

  • Financial Market domain knowledge.

  • Knowledge in setting up power BI reports.

  • Experience in handling metadata based applications.

  • Microsoft SQL server: good knowledge on SQL statements and procedures. Ability to understand complex database structures.

  • Microsoft SQL server: knowledge in setting up database, configuring and reconfiguring database Agent jobs, maintenance tasks etc.
