The Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs, is looking for the new team International Office an energetic and enthusiastic Internationalisation Officer (0.6 FTE).

Key responsibilities

The Internationalisation officer carries out administrative and support activities for the International Office.

  • Answer questions of own and exchange students on all aspects of studying abroad or in The Netherlands, mainly by email;
  • Processing applications and learning agreements of students, inbound as well as outbound, concerning amongst others summer programmes, courses and scholarships;
  • Processing grades and assessments of inbound and outbound students;
  • Support the Senior staff member Internationalization in carrying out the summer programmes, information- and introduction meetings;
  • Representing the institutes of FGGA on open days;
  • Supporting the team at network events and with all other common activities of the team or the Education Cluster.

Selection criteria

  • A University of Applied sciences diploma;
  • At least 1 year working experience, preferably in higher education;
  • Written and spoken fluency in Dutch and English (English level C1, Dutch NT2-II); working knowledge of a third language is an advantage;
  • Excellent skills in working with administrative systems and MS Office programmes like Word and Excel;
  • Team player and also good at taking responsibility for one’s own work;
  • Accurate, flexible and service-minded.

Our Faculty/Department

The Faculty Governance and Global Affairs (FGGA) is one of seven faculties of Leiden University and located in the centre of The Hague. The faculty has an international profile and consist of different institutes and centres: Security and Global Affairs, Leiden University College, Public administration and Centre for Professional Learning. Momentarily over 2400 (inter)national students are studying at Faculty Governance and Global affairs.

The International Office team to be set up is part of the Education-cluster of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs. It will support the institutes and programmes of the faculty in the field of internationalization. The team will advise on matters of internationalization and will look after the interests of the faculty within the university and with (foreign) partner institutions. Besides, it will manage and carry out the processes concerning exchange programmes and international internships.

 

Terms and conditions

We offer a fixed-term post for a period of one year. Renewal of the appointment is possible after positive evaluation of performance and necessary funding. The salary is depending on qualifications and experience and starts at €2,161 gross per month with a maximum of €2,917 gross per month, based on full time employment (pay scale 7 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
