What will you be doing?
As a junior researcher within the Centre of Expertise Cyber Security you are doing research in risk management in cyber security, guided by a Lector or a senior researcher.
Risk is inherent in any activity. A successful cybersecurity attack can cause damage to an organization, such as leading to large amounts of sensitive data being stolen (IT) or causing operational technologies (OT) to fail leading to direct physical harm. To mitigate the risk and damage associated with cybersecurity, it is important to know how to assess these risks, and proactively improve the system via design.
The focus of the research work will be in one or more of the following areas:
Besides your role as a junior researcher, you have the opportunity to work in the educational program or work in different projects with municipalities or private sectors. Moreover, there is also room for own initiative and new ideas for research.

The research group Cyber Security & Risk Management is part of the Centre of Expertise Cyber Security of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. The mission of the Centre of Expertise Cyber Security is to strengthen the cyber resilience of public and private organizations that are themselves less equipped for cyber threats. This mission is achieved by developing knowledge, based on practice-oriented research for organizations and education. Together with three other research groups within our Centre of Expertise, we execute multidisciplinary research and collaborate closely with the faculty IT&Design and the faculty Public Management, Law and Safety.
