What will you be doing?

As we are expanding the team, we are now looking to hire a Medior Cyber Security Specialist, with wide experience in this field of work. In this role, you will work in project teams on new innovations, often with partners from outside TNO.
With your robust IT background, your role in the projects you work on will focus on technical details. You also have the skills to connect different expertise in our organisation and direct the development of innovative technology and applications.
You are able to ascertain the challenges our clients face and what they want, and use this to steer research and explore new opportunities. Regularly aligning the work with clients is an important aspect of your role. As such, you have strong communication skills, are independent and proactively develop new initiatives.
In terms of these duties, you decide what to focus on and you develop into an expert in one of the fields TNO is active in.

What do we require of you?

As a Medior Cyber Security Specialist, you play a leading role in TNO’s cyber security research. To do this, requires your sound knowledge of ICT, a creative and proactive attitude and an open, curious take on the dynamic developments around cyber security at our client’s organisations and elsewhere.
To be able to succeed in this challenging role, you can see yourself in the below profile:

• A third-level graduate in, preferably, Information Science or another technical study, and an academic way of working, with enough affinity with ICT;
• At least five years’ experiences in a role in cyber security;
• Experience with complex ICT infrastructures;
• Experience with popular IT platforms and tooling;
• Capable of turning ideas into a demonstrator or proof-of-concept;
• Experience in working on projects;
• Result- and solution-oriented;
• Communicative and skilled at giving advice;
• Client-focussed;
• Creative, inventive.

What can you expect of your work situation?

TNO is an independent research organisation whose expertise and research make an important contribution to the competitiveness of companies and organisations, to the economy and to the quality of society as a whole. Innovation with purpose is what TNO stands for. With 3000 people we develop knowledge not for its own sake but for practical application. To create new products that make life more pleasant and valuable and help companies innovate. To find creative answers to the questions posed by society. We work for a variety of customers: governments, the SME sector, large companies, service providers and non-governmental organisations. Working together on new knowledge, better products and clear recommendations for policy and processes. In everything we do, impact is the key. Our product and process innovations and recommendations are only worth something if our customers can use them to boost their competitiveness.

What can TNO offer you?

Work enjoyment means something different for each employee. This is why we offer a-la-carte terms and conditions of employment that you can switch around on a monthly basis. Flexible working hours (like 4 days x 9 hours) and different leave schemes mean that you can create a package attuned to your specific wishes.
TNO attaches great value to both your personal and your professional development. Many opportunities exist for you to develop: conferences, courses, workshops, coaching, intervision, mentoring and job rotation. At TNO you can orchestrate your own career.
