Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science

TU Delft is a Global Top 100 research-intensive university aiming to make a significant contribution towards a more sustainable society. The University conducts ground-breaking scientific and technological research which is acknowledged as world-class, training academic staff with a genuine commitment to society and helps to translate knowledge into technological innovations and activity with both economic and social value (valorisation).

Cyber Security at TU Delft has a holistic profile and a unique socio-technical approach towards the protection of cyberspace. Research focuses on the prevention of incidents, as well as the detection and recovery of incidents. As all cyber security incidents have a technical and social aspect, solutions should, therefore, have a technical core and require a detailed understanding of the social context to be effective. Therefore, research and education in cyber security builds upon the faculty members at Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) as well as Technology, Policy and Management (TPM).

The Cyber Security Research Group, consisting of four core faculty, has a strong research portfolio in artificial intelligence and applied cryptography for cyber security. The Group’s ambition is to significantly contribute to research foundations, technology transfer, practices and education in cyber security, and to collaborate with leading peers worldwide. The Group contributes to education in cyber security at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Executive level.
