Modelling & Simulation (M&S) has become a critical technology for support of training, decision-making, and concept development in the Defence, Security and Safety domain. Are you challenged by delivering solutions to complex simulation engineering problems in a multi-disciplinary and often international team-effort? What will be your role?
As a Simulation Systems Engineer you will take initiative and lead development of solutions that address the challenges of multi-domain, multi-national distributed simulations. This includes the development of technical architectures and frameworks that offer solutions to meet the M&S needs of our Defence force. You will contribute to the development of M&S interoperability standards and design and evaluate solutions that leverage the latest cloud and virtual/mixed reality technologies, while meeting security needs and enabling integration of legacy simulation systems. You will apply your expertise in system requirements analysis and system design towards development and application of the (national) solutions for simulation architecture component. You will oversee implementation and development, integration and testing, and documentation quality assurance activities of simulation components. Other examples of your tasks:

You’re good at collaborating in project teams and with partners, partly due to your good communication skills in Dutch (speaking and writing, level B2 for non-Dutch native speakers or like to learn and English (speaking and writing). In addition, you’re client-oriented and able to translate a client’s query into research and innovative ideas.

The selection process
Please apply before May 1st, 2022. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.
The selection process may include an online assessment, a short presentation of a relevant technical topic and a reference check.
As you will be working for clients in the domain of defence and security, a Certificate of No Objection issued by AIVD (The Dutch General Information and Security Service) is mandatory. This means you will have to undergo a security screening.
