The vacancy 

At ZiuZ, our mission is to achieve worldwide impact with products that contribute to socially relevant issues. We are hard at work on a new medical device to improve patient outcomes in the operating room. This product combines proprietary image analysis techniques with embedded systems in a hand-held device that offers doctors life-saving insights. We are looking for an experienced developer to join this multidisciplinary product development team.

What is your role as Software Developer 

We work in the Agile way: you will be part of a Scrum team and work closely with the software architect, research engineers and colleagues with commercial and medical expertise. We apply knowledge of C++ for Linux to write code for a high-performance application centered around image and video processing. This role focuses on backend development, including interfaces with peripherals such as video capture devices, cameras or serial communication. Additionally, a simple but effective GUI will be developed for implementation in the operating room on both a screen and touch screen. Awareness of prevailing standards and regulations and embracing a way of working that ensures compliance are important.

What do you bring to the table? 

We are in search of a C++ developer with a minimum of five years relevant work experience and formal IT training at the HBO (higher professional) or WO (university) level. You are comfortable working with Linux on embedded computing units such as NVIDIA Jetson or Raspberry Pi and are familiar with GUI libraries such as Qt, gtkmm or similar. Working knowledge of OpenCV and Cuda is beneficial.

The research engineers with whom you will collaborate develop computer vision and machine learning solutions using Python. Other ZiuZ products are developed in C# using .NET Core. Affinity with or even some knowledge of these programming languages will help, but is not a must. Colleagues at ZiuZ hail from around the world; a strong command of the English language is therefore essential. Above all ZiuZ team members are curious, analytical and take a hands-on approach to technology development.
