Senior Technical Author (Electrical)

Within the Supportability Engineering Department, we are looking for a Senior Technical Author to join the Customer Documentation team. The Supportability Engineering Department consists of 60 domain experts and is responsible for the definition, development, realization and training of ILS (Integrated Logistic Support) for Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems- (software). The department consists of the following disciplines: Logistics Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Customer Documentation, Customer Training, Obsolescence Management and ILS Management.

What will you do as a Senior Technical Author?

The Customer Documentation Team is responsible for all customer-oriented technical documentation related to our Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems, which are mainly used in the maritime domain. The current team consists of 15 Technical Authors.

As a Senior Technical Author, you develop the technical user documentation for our high-tech products. You collect the technical information, research technical specifications, use the knowledge of specialists from throughout the organization and test the procedures on the actual systems. You write and maintain clear text for the Operator, Maintenance and System Manuals. The Customer Documentation Team also contributes to new developments in the field of publications including the application of Animation, AR, VR, Video, etc.

Who are we looking for?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in (electrical) technology or English (Higher Education).
• You have a technical background and/or affinity with technology.
• You have at least 5 years of experience as a Technical Author or a similar position.
• You have good communication skills, both oral and written.
• You have excellent knowledge of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
• You have the ability to write accurate, consistent, clear and concise English.
• Knowledge / experience in the field of STE (Simplified Technical English) is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in S1000D V3.0 and V4.1 Data Modules (DMs) is a plus.
• You are able to translate difficult concepts into easily understandable information for our end users.
• You are able to lead documentation projects from start to finish.
• You are able to work independently, take initiatives, but also like to work in a team.
• Knowledge of structured data documentation, (XML) and knowledge/experience of CSDB/CMS is a plus.
• You are flexible and open to technological changes within your field.

• You are good at organizing and planning and can maintain a helicopter view.
• You would like to live/work in East part of The Netherlands for a high-tech company.

Het Customer Documentation Team is verantwoordelijk voor alle klantgerichte technische documentatie met betrekking tot onze Radarsystemen en Command & Control Systemen, die voornamelijk worden gebruikt in het maritieme domein. Het huidige team bestaat uit ca. 15 Technisch Auteurs.

Als Senior Technisch Auteur ontwikkel je de technisch gebruikersdocumentatie voor onze hightech producten. About you

• Je hebt een afgeronde bachelor- of master opleiding op het gebied van (elektro)techniek;
• Je hebt minimaal 5 jaar ervaring als Technisch Auteur of een soortgelijke functie;
• Je beschikt over goede communicatieve vaardigheden, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk;
• Je hebt uitstekende kennis van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal zowel in woord als geschrift;
• Je hebt het vermogen om nauwkeurig, consistent, duidelijk en beknopt Engels te schrijven. Kennis / ervaring op het gebied van STE (Simplified Technical English) is een pre;
• Kennis en ervaring op het gebied van ASD S1000D specificatie / Data Modules (DM's) is een pre;
• Je bent in staat om moeilijke concepten te vertalen naar gemakkelijk te begrijpen informatie voor onze (eind)klanten;
• Je bent in staat documentatieprojecten van het begin tot eind te leiden;
• Je bent in staat zelfstandig te werken, neemt initiatieven, maar werkt ook graag in teamverband;
• Kennis van gestructureerde data, zoals XML en kennis/ ervaring van CSDB/CMS is een pre;
• Je bent flexibel en open voor technologische veranderingen binnen je vakgebied.
