Description:

Are you driven by the complexity of cyber threats and technical security solutions? And do you want to contribute to a digitally secure society by developing innovative cybersecurity technologies? Become a Cybersecurity Architect at TNO. We'd love to hear from you, even if you don't meet 100% of the profile below.

What will be your role?

As a Cybersecurity Architect at TNO, you play a crucial role in designing, developing, and integrating state-of-the-art (automated) security technologies. You work on various projects aimed at strengthening security and innovative technologies such as Zero Trust Architecture & Self-Healing technology for use by Security Operations Centers (SOCs). With these solutions, a SOC can perform its work more efficiently and effectively.

As a technology architect, you are the technical conscience of the team. In close collaboration with developers, consultants, and project leaders, you provide direction for development and implementation. You coordinate the team to collectively create solutions for the safety and resilience of security systems. Your role goes beyond technical aspects. In close collaboration with developers, scientists, and consultants, you initiate research into automated security technologies. You understand the needs of your stakeholders, develop appropriate solutions, and ensure seamless integration into, for example, automated security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) solutions, utilizing open-source software development, among other things.

In this role, you make an impact with groundbreaking security solutions to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructures in the Netherlands. Projects you may work on include the development of automated security analysis and incident response through playbook-based automation and orchestration. The application of AI technologies, modern cloud technology, and standards is inherent in these projects.

In the Cyber Security Technologies department, you'll be working with the absolute top of cybersecurity in the Netherlands. Your colleagues comprise a mix of junior, medior, and senior researchers. You work from our headquarters near The Hague CS, on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, or our office on the Zernike campus in Groningen. Here, you'll find an open and engaged atmosphere and a close-knit team of intrinsically motivated colleagues. You are part of a team closely connected to the broader industry, with a solid layer of experienced professionals maintaining strong relationships with various SOC and CERT teams, companies, and government agencies. This creates an environment of active collaboration and knowledge exchange with key players in the field of cybersecurity. Additionally, within this team, you have the opportunity to collaborate with notable technology partners in Europe, including major names. These partnerships allow you to operate at the forefront of technological developments and jointly work on advanced security solutions. This may also involve traveling to various locations, with a focus on collaboration and integration.

What we expect from you

To make this job a success, you need keen insight into emerging trends in cybersecurity and the ability to translate abstract concepts into concrete solutions that seamlessly integrate with software development and cybersecurity requirements. You bring not only technical knowledge but also direction and positive energy to the team of developers, consultants, and project leaders. You navigate skillfully through technical challenges and encourage others to push their boundaries. You build bridges between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What else you bring:

  • A relevant education at HBO or WO level, in the field of (technical) mathematics, computer science/informatics, cybersecurity.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a technical leadership role in the domain of cybersecurity and software security.
  • Experience with CI/CD, GitLab, Kubernetes, and cloud deployments, as well as (open source) software development.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Zero Trust Architecture, SBOM, and CycloneDX.
