The Data Science department translates large volumes of unstructured, often dynamic data sets into actionable insights. This data often originates from internet-based platforms such as social media and discussion forums, but can also include sensor data and transaction log files. We work with our clients on finding new methods for searching, linking and detecting trends in large amounts of heterogeneous data (text, audio, video, etc.). In today’s society, it is increasingly important to explain the results of these analyses and trends to human decision-makers. Would you like to help make fundamental improvements to these methods based on large amounts of data?
Then come and work for us as a Junior Data Scientist. You will develop solutions with a privacy-friendly design, for example analytical methods using encryption forms. In this way, we ensure that data can be analysed without releasing the content of sensitive data. We make the analysis transparent for the user and/or owner of the data and give them control over the privacy settings. We work with strategic partners such as LIACS and encryption experts (TNO-CSR, CWI), as well as European research consortia. In the healthcare world, we enable analyses between chain parties without breaching the confidentiality of the data. In the police and defence domain, we deal responsibly with privacy-sensitive data analysis.
With a background in machine learning, you will make an invaluable contribution to client projects. Complex recognition and decision-making tasks will use these techniques in an increasing number of application fields, such as security, defence and health. Some areas you can help us with include:
Would you like to use what you know to contribute to the above topics? And does the list of requirements below sound like you? Then we would like to hear from you!
As a Junior Data Scientist, you will carry out research projects, help turn client issues into concrete projects, co-write quotes, give presentations on your work and write (academic and popular) publications and reports.
You can apply till the 28th of October. The process comprises at least three (selection) rounds. First two interview rounds and then an assessment. After a positive selection, we will finish off the process by discussing terms and conditions of employment. We try to complete the interviews and assessment within 4 weeks.
