Stepping Stones
The Safety and Security industry indicate that there is a deficit of of well trained Safety and Security professionals. Therefore the industry, in the short run, wants a more adequate labour and training and development market, set to its desired standards. Training and development is based on permanent education, with clearly formulated, educational goals.
The aim of Stepping Stones project is, to develop greater economic activities in the Southwest Area of The Netherlands, the so called “Randstad”. For sustainable education, a permanent and well equipped training and education programme is compulsory. This programme is based on industries’ demands.
This project was initiated and executed as part of 'Pieken in de Delta' program (2006 to 2010), an initiative funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Municipality of The Hague to support collaborative use of commercial technologies in public security. The project is now closed. A website for Stepping Stones was launched, which serves as the basis for HSD’s Security Education Portal (under construction).
