ING is looking for an experienced Dev/Data Engineer with focus on design/development skills who would like to work in a challenging environment with a lot of change. You are technically passionate, have an Agile mindset and have a background as Dev/Data engineer within a Regulatory Reporting or Data Reporting environment. You are a team player working with end-to-end responsibility.


The Transaction Reporting family is charged with the oversight and steering of the ING’s trade and transaction reporting to ensure that the reporting is complete, accurate and timely. It is a dynamic, multi-faceted environment that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver regulatory transaction reporting capabilities while providing risk management and control to ensure that ING globally complies with the relevant regulations such as MiFID and EMIR.

Your education and background

  • Professional and intellectual IT ability at university level - at least Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years of Data and/or software engineering and development experience including design and automation

  • Strong analytical skills, proactivity and ability to work in cross-border international teams

  • Preferred experience in a Financial Market regulatory reporting environment; otherwise at least have experience in a data reporting environment

  • Functional knowledge about Financial Market Products and/or on regulatory regulations like MiFID, EMIR, MMSR, SMMD, MAS, HKMA, SFTR is strongly preferred

  • Strong affinity with data is required

  • Knowledge of (Data) Architecture Design and Integration Patterns

  • Experience in: Data management, Data requirements, Data definitions (semantics), Data onboarding, Data modelling, Data Mapping, Data Validation, Data lineage

  • Understand the challenges you have in a data reporting environment with regard to data quality, data flows, data consistency

  • Create and maintain, with the team, an optimal data pipeline architecture

  • Strong knowledge of SQL

  • Highly experienced with Oracle Database development (APEX knowledge is nice to have)

  • Experience in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, Web development (JavaScript / HTML / AJAX / JSON)

  • Knowledge of Tibco (BW designer, EMS) and/or Kafka, is nice to have

  • Knowledge of XML / XPATH / XSL

  • Knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows

  • DevOps knowledge: CI/CD concepts, Azure DevOps is preferred

  • Working experience in multi-cultural teams

  • Strong focus on understanding the regulatory and business requirements and supportive facts and data to build the target operating model design in line with INGs ambitions
