You will become part of the ING Neo organization led by ING’s Chief Innovation Officer Annerie Vreugdenhil.

As of 2021, ING has merged various innovation divisions into one new entity: ING Neo. The idea behind Neo is for ING to streamline its various innovation operations into one single unit. The Chief Innovation Officer reports directly to ING’s Chief Executive Officer Steven van Rijswijk.

Innovation has always been part of ING’s culture, aiming at constantly reinventing the customer experience. However, the world we are operating in today is changing faster than ever before. Customer behavior, regulation, fintechs and low interest rates require ING to continuously develop itself to remain a sustainable business.

 

In this role you will become part of the first line risk/business control team of ING Neo. The team exists of an expert lead and 4 risk officers and 2 IT risk officers.

 

What you will do

The Business Control Officer will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Pro-actively providing advice to the departments on continuous enhancement of the control environment and operational processes.
  • Continuously raising awareness in ING Neo regarding (non-financial) risk-related topics.
  • Implementing and maintaining non-financial risk (NFR) controls from policies, including testing activities.
  • Applying an innovation perspective, accelerating initiatives, to the NFR policies and application of it.
  • Managing the relationships with ORM, Compliance, Legal, IRM, CISO,  and CAS;
  • Coaching and guiding the Labs initiatives, scale ups and ING assets (e.g., Intersoftware Group, etc) under the responsibility of ING Neo.

 

How to succeed

You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment with different nationalities and disciplines. You have risk management, audit and/or legal experience and your analytical skills and sound judgement are well developed.

  • 7+ years experience as (NFR) Risk Officer with focus on areas such as Operational Risk Management, Compliance, auditor or legal. Information Risk Management expertise is an advantage You have a broad NFR knowledge.
  • You have an understanding of ING’s NFR policies and are able help the business with implementing the controls.
  • You easily adapt to a dynamic environment and have a hands-on mentality.
  • Professional and intellectual ability at academic level.
  • You are fluent in English (writing and speaking).
  • Strong reporting skills.
  • You take responsibility to get the work done.
