About us
In the Netherlands, where 2200 employees are based, we are located in four cities: Huizen, Delft, Eindhoven and Hengelo (HQ). Together with an extensive ecosystem of knowledge partners, customers and suppliers, we work on radars for naval vessels, cyber security solutions, transportation systems, communication equipment for land forces, cryogenic cooling solutions and research & development for radar tech (in collaboration with TU Delft).

The software department of the Application Engineering cluster is responsible for the software development in Combat Management and Radar- and Optical sensors for worldwide navies- and defense systems. The work is performed in multi-disciplinary agile teams with specialists in software/system/test engineering and functional design.

About the assignment
Within the software department, we have the desire to deliver new features to market even faster.
For this, more loosely coupled systems and automated deployments are necessary. Loosely coupled systems benefit from a microservice architecture together with OS virtualisation (Kubernetes).

There are several assignments available that are related to services that are common for different part of our systems. Services like time data, meteo data, chart service and parameter service are ready to become loosely coupled (micro) services and deployed using software container technology.

The assignments are performed individually or in a group. Programming those services can be done in either Java or C++. The services shall implement a REST interface and dependent on the kind of data extended with a gRPC interface for technical performance requirements.

Every assignment starts with the establishment of requirements, a design, an implementation and test evidence. Preferably the assignment is performed in one of our product teams using a Scrum way of working.
