Head of the Finance Unit

BACKGROUND, MAIN PURPOSE AND TASKS OF THE POST

Under the leadership of the Head of Administration, the Head of the Finance Unit is responsible for managing Europol’s financial resources in line with the Organization’s regulatory framework, policies and practices, and for enabling Europol to work effectively and efficiently towards achieving the objectives set by its multi-stakeholder community. 

Heading a diverse team of approximately 50 staff members, the incumbent advises the Head of the Administration Department on a wide range of matters in relation to procurement and contract management, financial and grant management and planning and reporting and develops and executes Europol’s multi-annual financial strategy. 
S/he fosters teamwork and cultivates cooperation within and outside team structures, champions the introduction of innovative financial management tools and instruments and ensures that the principle of sound financial management is fully enshrined in Europol’s activities.
