The goal of this PhD project is to bring Machine Learning/AI and real-time decision-making closer to where the data is produced, harnessing the power of locally trained models for privacy-aware sensing at the edge. The motivation behind this line of research is the lack of an integrated platform to perform model training and inference on edge devices with low computaitonal, memory and power capabilities. The PhD student hired in this position will perform research with focus in the intersection of distributed data management, machine learning, and crowd computing.
Master/Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with experience in one or more of the following: distributed systems, data management or machine learning.
