We are looking for a senior Python/Django developer to join our team and help build Darktrace PREVENT / Attack Surface Management and its related services which Darktrace develops. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the backend of our web application, as well as mentoring other developers and collaborating with stakeholders.

 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectations of 2 days a week in The Hague office. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test scalable and modular code using Python and Django

  • Implement automated testing and code-quality checks using tools such as pytest, flake8, and black

  • Document code using docstrings and design documents

  • Translate development tasks from functional specifications to technical designs

  • Use Git for version control and dependency management

  • Perform code-reviews and provide feedback to other developers

  • Mentor junior developers and share best practices

  • Work independently and in teams using agile methodologies

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong feeling of ownership and passion for delivering high-quality software. (Essential)
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. (Essential) 
  • Expert in Python and Django, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, performant software. (Essential)
  • Proficient in Git, Linux, and SQL. (Essential)
  • Interest in learning new technologies and frameworks. (Essential)
  • Adopt industry best practices and implement them in the codebase. (Essential)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. (Essential)
  • Deploy and manage applications on Linux servers using Docker and Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools. (Desirable)
  • Experience with infrastructure in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of cyber security and internet protocols. (Desirable)
