NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is looking for a Senior Technician (NCOP).
The Director of Service Operation (DSO) is accountable to plan, install, operate and maintain CIS services throughout the allocated Area of Responsibility (AOR), in static NATO Headquarters, Alliance Operations and Missions, and Exercises, and supported Organisations. Service Operations are delivered and managed in close coordination with the Directorates of Applications Services, Infrastructure Services, AirC2 Services, and BMD Services. DSO and the CSUs receive support from the Agency’s Enabler functions (General Services, Human Resources, Finance, and Acquisition).
NCI Agency CIS Support Unit (CSU) Brunssum, located in Brunssum (NLD) enables end-to-end CIS services as it installs, operates, maintains and supports the full range of CIS capabilities during peacetime, crisis and war throughout its allocated Area of Responsibility (AOR) and as otherwise directed. The Alternate Ops Centre is hosted in Brunssum, resourced by Primary Ops Center and supported by the CSU.
The Service Operations Branch (SOB) is responsible for providing local support to the provision of CIS services in direct support of local and remote customers by SLAs and other agreements. Under coordination of the NCI Agency’s OPS Center, SOB directs, coordinates, supervises and executes all local Service Operation activities required in support of all Service Lines. SOB provides local Level 1 and 2 support, directly or as directed by the Ops Centre and/or in coordination with the appropriate service lines. SOB contributes to Continual Service and Process Improvement and reports Key Performance Indicators to appropriate service lines.
Under the direction of Section Head you will perform duties such as the following:
Investigates and resolves technical issues in a systematic approach;
Maintains sound knowledge on implemented technologies;
Advises superiors and recommends technical solutions;
Installs operates and maintains assigned ICT Platforms (IS) and stays abreast of the latest developments in these areas;
Installs operates and maintains Common Operational Picture related Functional Systems software (i.e. NCOP), Databases and other Applications and stays abreast of latest developments in these areas;
Supports integrity of assigned ICT Platforms (IS), supports on IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans;
Maintains liaison with other CSU internal units, Service Lines and other technical organizations;
Provides support related to local CIS Service provision during the execution phase;
Documents the design and configuration of assigned ICT Platforms (IS) and the required operating procedures;
Implements procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing the performance of ICT Platforms (IS) and provides reports as required;
Monitors and reports the capacity of the assigned ICT Platforms (IS);
Assists with and implements assigned project work packages;
Assists C2 Service Line with operating and maintaining Functional C2 Systems used by JFCBS HQ to build the Common Operational Picture (COP);
Ensures those systems are providing required information to the system used to build and display NATO COP (NCOP);
Prior experience in administration, configuration, and monitoring of NATO applications for Command and Control services;
Prior experience in administration, configuration, and monitoring of UNIX and/or SUN SOLARIS based operating systems and services.
Further, it would be considered highly desirable if you can display any experience or knowledge of:
Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.

Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language, and therefore a thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential.
May be required to undertake duty travel to operational theatres inside and outside NATO boundaries.
