Software engineer II

You will work mostly within your own team to where you will be responsible for bug fixes and minor feature development -- with support from senior team members along the way. Applies an engineering approach to solving problems and analyzes data before making decisions. Able to become learn and become an expert on the particular requirements of their day-day work .

 

Solid entry-level development experience, including experience with commercial products

Highly self-motivated and must be able to work independently or within a team.

Strong knowledge of core CS concepts

Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 

 

Experience with AWS or similar cloud platform

Experience working in an Agile or SAFe environment

Understanding of DevOps and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab)

 

Specific Tech Needed 

Demonstrable experience with Java (or Scala)

Demonstrable experience with SpringBoot or similar framework

Experience working with micro-services (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience with JavaScript UI frameworks (Angular, React)

 

Many Software Engineers progress to a Senior Software Engineer role at Everbridge, others have moved into Product Management, SRE, and other teams. If you choose the Engineering path, you will be expected to gain deep understanding of a particular area of product ownership. This will include the ability to architect new product features and enhancements including creating the technical design and implementation of your growing areas of expertise. You will be able to work with your team and with related teams to come up with multiple solutions to problems we are working to solve. You will be able to take the perspective of both the developer and user of the application in order to come up with an appropriate solution. You will be able to lead and execute with limited supervision and help guide and partner with junior team members to bring your vision to reality.
