Tech Lead – Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Leiden, Netherlands.

As a Technical Lead, you will join a collaborative team of skilled professionals contributing to the final stages of the PASAAS project, an initiative at the intersection of advanced technology and national defense. In this role, you will help develop data-driven applications that support critical decisions in a forward-thinking environment. In addition to this we have a variety of projects for the European Space Agency that will also require your technical insights and skills.

Tasks and activities

The scope of work will include:

• Leading the technical development and implementation of the various data driven systems, including but not limited to applications that support Model Based System Engineering.

• Overseeing the architectural design and development of the system, making strategic decisions to optimize performance, scalability, and data integrity.

• Providing senior guidance to the technical team on the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary system engineering projects with security aspects.

• Keeping the complete picture of the system, paying special attention on the successful integration of each of the subsystems.

• Performing trade-offs of different architectures according to customer requirements.

• Performing system requirements elicitation from defined use-cases and/or user requirements.

• Partitioning and apportioning the overall system requirements into the various system components.

Skills and experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering or a relevant field.
• At least 8 years proven experience in Software engineering, with experience as Technical Lead.
• Sound knowledge in C#.
• You are familiar with .NET Core.
• You have experience with the MVVM design pattern and Test-Driven Design.
• You have a solid understanding of Relational Databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• You are familiar and comfortable around Git, GitHub and Gitlab
• Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
• Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
• Due to requirements, the candidate must be an EU national.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

• You have experience in working on large multi-faceted projects.
• You have experience in continuous integration tools and with data modelling using languages such as Ecore or UML.
• You are acquainted with Blazor web application development.
• You are familiar with working in a Linux Environment and containerization technologies such as Docker.
• You are familiar with developing mobile and/or web applications using TypeScript or JavaScript.
