Who should attend?
No prerequisites nor prior knowledge are required to attend. "Risk and Security are everyone's business!" we often hear within organisations! This course suits those either directly or indirectly involved in some form of risk management and/or interfacing/related processes or projects - in any industry, in any size organisation, anywhere in the world. Examples include:
Further details about the exams
Preparation time/effort depends very much on your prior knowledge. For this reason, we provide the exam preparation materials (upon exam payment) as self-study kit, so that all candidates have at least somewhat the same theoretical level of knowledge when the course begins.
For Foundation we would indicate that reading through the materials takes about 6 hours, and for Lead about 12 hours.
In the course itself, we mainly want to look at the practical application of Business Continuity, Risk Management, Information Security and Supply Chain Security - including the relevant standards - in an interactive way. We do build some time in for exam practice questions, to be done in sub- groups during the course (whilst any non-exam participants work through a case study).
Any computer-based exam must be scheduled by the participant via the PECB, e.g. a few days/weeks after the course. If you have barely had time to go through the materials before the course, you may want to leave it a little longer after the course before scheduling your exam(s) so you can go through the materials a bit more before taking the exam. You can choose the date/time of the exam yourself.
For any of the Foundation exams, native English speakers get 1 hour (non-native English get an extra 10 minutes). For any of the Lead exams, native English speakers get max 3 hours (non native English get 30 minutes extra).
Incidentally, if you do not pass the first time, 1 free 're-sit' is offered by PECB within 12 months.
