The OPCW, with its 193 Member States, oversees the global endeavour to permanently and verifiably eliminate chemical weapons. The ultimate aim of the OPCW is to achieve a world permanently free of chemical weapons and to contribute to international security and stability, general and complete disarmament, and global economic development.

 

The Technical Secretariat proposes policies for the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention to the Member States of the OPCW, and develops and delivers programmes with and for them.
