Peace, Justice and (Cyber)Security
HSD’s Security proposition perfectly matches The Hague’s strong profile as International city of Peace and Justice, built up over the past 20 years. The International Court of Justice seated in the Peace Palace, the International Criminal Court, Europol, Eurojust, OPCW and around 160 other international organisations in the field of peace, justice and international law, are testament to that.
That’s why the Municipality of The Hague (gemeente Den Haag) aims to create the perfect environment and conditions for this growing economic sector. Key is the development of the HSD and the HSD Campus, where more than 50 businesses, governments and knowledge institutions are established and co-operate to develop innovative security solutions. Furthermore, the economic opportunities provided by HSD, for instance in cross-over with the clusters IT/Tech, Finance & Legal, and Energy, are numerous and strongly enhanced by economic programmes such as Impact Economy and Smart The Hague (Smart Cities).
Over the past years The Hague has established itself particularly as a Cyber Security hub, which is demonstrated by the presence of the Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre (EC3), NATO Communications and Information Agency, the Dutch Cyber Command and the National Cyber Security Centre, the Cyber Security Academy, and numerous prominent cyber security businesses.
